I was a colicky baby and have BPD. Our daughter was also very colicky as a baby, and is displaying symptoms of BPD, even though she hasn’t been diagnosed yet, because she’s only 15.
Dr. Blaise A. Aguirre writes in his book: Borderline Personality Disorder in Adolescents: A Complete Guide to Understanding and Coping When Your Adolescent has BPD how BPD and colic may be related.

Does anyone else have anything to share about their experiences with BPD and Colic? I’d love to hear them. Please tell us in the Comments below.

I have BPD, and I was an extremely colicky baby. i was on phenabarbital for the first six months of my life. I’d like to know more about connection to colic as well as if being on this type of drug could contribute to the problem

Thank you so much for sharing this I had suspected this separately.I myself had colic when I was a baby and my mother had a huge emotional difficulty with me. And my friend also was colicky and also has BPD. I don’t think it’s a coincidence. I’d like to know more on the research. To me it goes back to the mother not being able to validate the high emotions. My mother would often cry after she couldn’t console me. So as I grew up when I became really emotional she wasn’t responding to that emotion but later she would get hyper emotion she would like build it all up and save inside.
