I just read a few articles about college students requesting that trigger warnings be put on their books. This is due to many of them having Post-Traumatic Stress symptoms. I think it’s a great idea. Critics say that they shouldn’t have to put warnings on the classics and that they’d have to put warnings on every little thing, and that if they’re in college, they should “grow up”, “get over it” and that “real life doesn’t come with trigger warnings.”
What is your take on this idea? Do you think it would be too hard to put trigger warnings on materials? What do you say to the naysayers? Let me know in the comments below. Thanks,
– Joyce.
