Crying over Country Music and Taylor Swift

I LOVE COUNTRY MUSIC! I never used to tell people that because I thought they wouldn’t like me.  But now I don’t care.  I love Country and I’m proud of it!  It used to be a part of my Identity Disturbance.  I wouldn’t exactly tell people I loved their music, I just wouldn’t tell them that I loved my Country music.

I feel like crying now that Taylor Swift isn’t singing Country anymore.  Isn’t that silly?  Some of her music was kind of Country-Pop, which I don’t mind, just not all the straight Pop music necessarily.  I like new Country and some old Country.

I don’t know if wanting to cry is partly because of all the stuff happening with my daughter and missing my meds this morning, probably some of everything.

I love Taylor’s music!  I’m listening to it right now.  It’s helped me through many rough times in my life over the last few years.  I especially love her song Mean.  It’s helped me deal with feelings of pain from being bullied all through school.  Even though it was over 25 years ago, it still hurts almost like it was yesterday.  I hope she doesn’t quit Country forever.  I know it’s silly but I can’t help it.  😥

  1. Interesting. I’m a huge country fan as well. An ex-boyfriend of mine, one that played a lot of head games with me and my illness, used to make fun of me for it. I remember one night I was in an episode. I grabbed scissors and went into my room. I grabbed all of my country concert t-shirt and sat on the floor and shredded all of them with scissors like I was trying to kill that part of me because I thought it was so unacceptable.

I’m happy you have reached a peace with this part of yourself.

    1. Thank you so much for your comment. I don’t feel so alone now. 🙂
