I’ve been on the search for any information on co-morbid diagnosis of BP1 and BPD. Unfortunately, I have come up with nothing. All I can find is the treatments are much the same, except with BPD psychotherapy seems to be the most effective treatment there is. Divolporate being the medication used the most to help calm agitation, irritability, anger, rage and impulsivity. Something I suppose I should speak to my doctor about considering Divolporate is also used to help with Bipolar Disorder.
I also found that more often than not, those of us with a dual diagnosis, are misdiagnosed with Bipolar Disorder when in fact we have Borderline Personality Disorder. This is often confused in patients that have BP2 as opposed to those with BP1.
